In order to avoid the build up of hazardous live voltages on the exposed surfaces, all grounding wires must be properly connected at all times during engine operation.Any disconnected grounding wires (including the grounding bond wires, the conductor shield wires, the power inverter grounding straps and the component housing grounding straps) must be properly reconnected before the engine is started.Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury or death.
Procedure:
Turn the key switch to the OFF position.
After the Engine has shutdown, turn the key switch to the ON position. Do not start the Engine.
Use the Monitoring System Display to check the status of the "DC Power Bus Voltage". Confirm that the DC Power Bus voltage indicates less than 50 VDC. If the DC Bus voltage indicates over 50 VDC, monitor until the levels are less than 50 VDC. Once the displayed DC voltages are less than 50 VDC, proceed to the next step.

Access the battery disconnect switch and the hazardous voltage indicator, both items are located in the ground level service center inside the access cover on the left fender of the machine.
Observe the state of the amber hazardous voltage indicator. If the indicator is illuminated, do NOT perform any type of service on the machine. Wait until the indicator is NOT illuminated. Then, perform the indicator test in the next step.Note: If incorrect operation of the hazardous voltage indicator is observed or suspected, resolve the problem before machine operation. Refer to the Troubleshooting, "Indicator Lamp - Test" to determine the cause of the hazardous voltage system energized indicator problem.
To check the operation of the Hazardous Voltage Indicator, perform the following indicator test when the indicator is NOT ILLUMINATED. While observing the indicator, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Wait for several seconds. Then, turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.Note: When the battery disconnect switch is turned ON , the amber hazardous voltage indicator should illuminate briefly and then turn OFF. This indicates that the operation of the indicator circuit is correct. However, always assume that a hazardous voltage level could remain in the system.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and lock out the machine.
If no hazardous voltage conductors will be exposed during a procedure, service can now be performed. If a hazardous voltage connection enclosure is opened or hazardous voltage connector is disconnected, use a volt meter to measure DC voltage between any exposed conductors and frame ground. Do not make personal contact with the exposed conductors until the voltage between the conductors and frame ground has been measured.Verify that there is less than 50 VDC between ANY exposed hazardous voltage conductors and frame ground before any service is performed on any of the hazardous voltage system components.Performing Maintenance Procedures with the Engine and the Generator Operating
