Remove ring seal (37) from carrier (34). Remove bearing (38) from the carrier only if a replacement is required. Removal can damage the bearing.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove springs (39) and rollers (40) from cam (41).

Invert the stator. Remove retaining ring (42) and plate (43) from the stator.

Remove retaining ring (44) from the stator. Raise the temperature of the stator. Push cam (41) out of stator (33).

Remove thrust bearing (45), the bearing race, and the bearing retainer from turbine (46).

Invert the housing. Place the housing on suitable cribbing. Use a hammer and a soft drift in order to drive hub (47), ball bearing (48), and the turbine assembly out of bearing race (49).
Remove the housing from the turbine assembly.
Perform the following procedure in order to disassemble the turbine assembly:

Remove bolts (50) and hub (47) from turbine (46).

Use Tooling (C) to remove internal retaining ring (51) from hub (47). Remove seal ring (53) from the hub.
Remove bearing race (52) from the hub only if a replacement is required. Removal can damage the bearing race.

Install two of bolts (50) (not shown) that were removed in step 23.a through the turbine and into ring (54). Use a soft hammer and strike the head of the bolts in order to remove the ring from the turbine. Then remove the two bolts.

Use Tooling (C) to remove retaining ring (56) and plate (57) from housing (55).

Remove clutch discs (58) and clutch plates (59) from the housing. Note: The clutch discs and the clutch plates are alternated.

Install Tooling (F) in order to remove piston (61) from housing (55). Remove seal (60) from the housing. Note the orientation of the seal for assembly purposes.
