Use Tooling (L) to install retaining ring (28). Install retaining ring (28) into sleeve (25).

Use Tooling (K) to install retaining ring (27). Install sleeve (25), spool (26), and retaining ring (27).Note: Use Tooling (GG) to retain spool (26) into sleeve (25).

Position ring gear (23) onto cover assembly (13) and install bolts (24).

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to cover assembly (13). The weight of cover assembly (13) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).
Position cover assembly (13) and install bolts (12). Tighten bolts (12) evenly to load spring pressure.Note: The planetary assembly can push bearing assembly (29) out of cover assembly (13). Use Tooling (LL) to install bearing assembly (29).
Use Tooling (F) to install retaining ring (22).
Remove the washers and a cable strap that supported the planetary assembly.

Apply Tooling (FF) to the bore surface of housing assembly (14) prior to the installation of lip seal (19). Use Tooling (J) to install lip seal (19). Install lip seal (19) into housing assembly (14). Install O-ring seal (20).Note: Lubricate the sealing lip of lip seal (19) with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Apply Tooling (DD) to the mating surface of housing assembly (14) and mount assembly (18). Use Tooling (E) to install mount assembly (18). Install mount assembly (18).Note: Remove the excess sealant.
Install the O-ring seal and plate (17) onto housing assembly (14).

Position housing assembly (14) and install bolts (15).

Position terminal assembly (9) and install bolts (10). Install O-ring seal (8) onto housing (5). Repeat for the other housing.
Illustration 73 g01567580Note: Terminal blocks (6) and cable assemblies (7) must be free of debris and oil prior to assembly. Use a cleaning solution of 90% isopropanol alcohol and 10% water to clean electrical connectors.
Install housing (5). Install terminal blocks (6). Connect cable assemblies (7). Install O-ring seals (4). Repeat for the other side.

Install covers (2) and (3).

Attach Tooling (KK) to port (146). Attach an air supply hose to Tooling (KK). Apply 34.5 kPa (5 psi) of air for 15 minutes. Ensure that the pressure does not drop from 34.5 kPa (5 psi). This procedure will test for leaks.

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to electric drive propulsion module (1). The weight of electric drive propulsion module (1) is approximately 1225 kg (2700 lb).
Remove electric drive propulsion module (1) from Tooling (A).End By:
Install the piston motor.
Install the brake control valve.
Install the electric drive propulsion module.
