Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures

Remove bolts (3). Loosen bolts (2) and reposition clamp (4) and flange (1).
Remove O-ring seals (5).

If necessary, disconnect the hose from flange (7). Remove bolts (6) and remove flange (7). Remove the gasket.

Disconnect harness assembly (8). Remove bolts (10) and remove inlet housing and pipe assembly (9).

Remove O-ring seal (11). Remove damper guard (12).

Remove bolts (13) and position harness assembly (14) out of the way.

Disconnect hose assembly (15).

Attach a suitable lifting device to water pump (17). The weight of water pump (17) is approximately 32 kg (71 lb).
Remove bolts (16), water pump (17), and the O-ring seal.Installation Procedure
Install water pump (17) in the reverse order of removal.
