Lift the assembled 509-5085 Lifting Tool Assembly (1) and 509-5170 Lifting Tool Assembly (8) using a suitable overhead lifting device (refer to the Tool Operating Manual for the 509-5170 Lifting Tool Assembly (8).
Tip/rotate the 509-5085 Lifting Tool Assembly (1) and lower it onto the Gear (10), capturing 9 gear teeth between the Jaws (5), as shown in Figure 3.
Continue to lower the 509-5085 Lifting Tool Assembly (1) until the Foot (6) slips underneath the Gear (10).
Raise the 509-5085 Lifting Tool Assembly (1) and ensure that:
the Foot (6) supports the bottom of the Gear (10),
the outer diameter of the Gear (10) rests against the Leveler (7), and
the overhead lift device is taut.
Lift the Gear (10) and move as needed.Note: If needed, set the Gear (10) down, and adjust the Leveler (7) as needed to make the Gear (10) level during the lift.
With the crane taut, the 509-5085 Lifting Tool Assembly (1) should be securely attached to the Gear (10) and unable to be removed except by lowering the crane. Do not attempt to lift Gear (10) if the 509-5085 Lifting Tool Assembly (1) is not secure.
