Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Use a suitable lifting device to place the piston pump for the winch toward the back of the compartment in the machine. The piston pump for the winch weighs approximately 32 kg (70 lb).
Install the piston pumps for the track motors. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR5569-00, "Piston Pump (Hydrostatic) - Install".

Use a suitable lifting device to install the piston pump (7) for the winch on the piston pump for the track motor. Install bolts (12) which secure piston pump (7) for the winch to the bracket. Install bolts (15) in the top and in the bottom of piston pump for the track.
Connect the following hose assemblies to piston pump (7) for the winch: (3) , (4) , (5) , (6) , (8) , (9) , (10) , (13) and (14) .
Connect tube assembly (11) to piston pump (7) for the winch.

Install the floorplate (A) in the cab.

Use Tooling (A) to lift bottom guard (1) into position on the machine. The bottom guard weighs approximately 35 kg (77 lb). Install the bolts which fasten the bottom guard to the machine.
Check the hydraulic oil level for the tractor. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7479-02, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities". Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7479-02, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".
