Bearing Adjustment:Tools Needed: 5P4204 Spanner Wrench The procedure that follows must be used to put the correct amount of preload on the bearings for the final drive: 1. Tighten nut (8) to a torque of 150 lb. ft. (205 N m) with spanner wrench.2. Turn sprocket (7) to put the bearings in their seats.3. Hit the hub of sprocket (7) with a large punch and a hammer.4. Repeat Steps 1, 2 and 3 until nut (8) does not turn when it is tightened.5. Loosen nut (8).6. Tighten nut (8) to a torque of 100 lb. ft. (135 N m).7. If nut (8) is in a locking position, install the axle, retainer (9) and bolts.8. If nut (8) is not in a locking position, tighten the nut to the next nearest locking position. Install the axle, retainer (9) and the bolts.
