Disconnect hose assembly (2) and hose assembly (3).

(X) Purge plugs for the service brake
Before you release the parking brake, loosen one of two purge plugs (X) for the service brake. This action will allow oil to purge from the brake system in order to release the brake piston.

Do not exceed 3792 kPa (550 psi). Damage to the service brake can occur.
Ensure that the slack adjuster is capped prior to releasing the parking brake. Attach Tooling (A) onto block (4). Use Tooling (A) in order to release the parking brakes.

Remove bolts (5). Remove cover (6) and gasket (7). Remove bolts (8). Remove cover (9) and gasket (10).

Turn the sprocket that is on the service brake in order to position master link (11). Remove spring pins (12).

Install Tooling (B). Remove master link (11).

Install two pry bars in order to retain drive chain (14). Remove Tooling (B). Remove the pry bars in order to release drive chain (14). Turn the sprocket that is on the service brake and the sprocket that is on the final drive sprocket simultaneously until drive chain (14) is disconnected from the sprocket.

Failure to release the pressure can result in personal injury.
Release the pressure from Tooling (A). Disconnect Tooling (A) from block (4).

Remove bolts (15) in order to remove bracket (16).

Disconnect tube assemblies (17).

Install Tooling (D). Remove two of bolts (18) and install Tooling (E) in order to support service brake (19). The weight of service brake (19) is approximately 930 kg (2050 lb).
Remove the remaining bolts (18). Use Tooling (F) in order to separate service brake (19) from the tandem housing. Remove service brake (19).

Remove O-ring seal (20).
Repeat this procedure for the remaining service brakes.
