Insert a light inside each clean and dry element and inspect. Discard the element if rips or tears are found.Storage
Dry thoroughly, then wrap and store all good elements in a clean, dry place.Engine Air Precleaner - Inspect and Clean
1. Inspect visually. The cup should be emptied whenever dirt reaches the indicator mark. 2. Loosen the wing nut on top of the cap and remove the cap. 3. Remove and empty the cup. Wipe the cup clean. 4. Install the cup and the cap. Tighten the wing nut finger tight only. Do not use a tool.5. Periodically remove the precleaner cup and the cap and wash them in water.Seat Belt
Inspect the condition of the seat belt and all mounting hardware frequently. Replace the seat belt or any part of the mounting hardware, if it is damaged.
Replace the seat belt every 3 years regardless of its condition or appearance.
Windshield Wipers and Washer (If Equipped)
Inspect Blades - Refill Bottle
1. Inspect the windshield wiper blades. Replace them if they are worn or damaged, or if streaking occurs.
When operating in freezing temperatures, use a nonfreezing window washer solvent. Any commercially available nonfreezing window washer solvent can be used.
2. Fill the windshield washer bottle, through the filler neck located on the left outside of the base of the operator's compartment.Fuses
Inspect - Change Fuses
1. The fuse panel is located inside the cab on the right side of the operator's seat in the operating console. 2. Inspect the fuses. Replace any fuse if the element is broken.
If it is necessary to replace fuses frequently, consult your Caterpillar dealer.

Do not puncture or burn ether cylinders.Keep ether cylinders out of the reach of unauthorized personnel.
The ether cylinder valve is located in the engine compartment on the right side of the machine.Initial Installation
1. Remove the protective plug (1) from the ether cylinder valve. Store the plug in the threaded holder (2). 2. Install the gasket
