The information that is contained in this publication is for the field installation of the following kit:
389-0291 Lighting Group Warning Beacon Kit The supplemental product support literature should be used with the appropriate Service Manual and the appropriate Parts Manual that is available for each standard machine.Do not perform any procedure or order any parts outlined in this publication until you understand the information contained in this document.
Sudden movement or accidental starting of the machine can cause personal injury or death to persons on or near the machine.To prevent personal injury or death, perform the following:Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.Lower the work tool to the ground and engage the parking brake.Stop the engine and remove the key.Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock.

Remove cab roof cap and headliner as necessary in order to access the cab wiring harness.

Route the warning beacon harness (1) through two 8M-2771 Clips (2) .
Secure the 377-4057 Warning Beacon Lighting Gp (3) and the two 8M-2771 Clips (2) to the rear frame bracket with two 9X-2044 Screws (4) .

Route the warning beacon harness (1) as shown in Illustration 2. Secure with three 3S-2093 Cable Straps (5) .
Connect the warning beacon harness (1) to the M-C6 connector (6) on the cab wiring harness.
Using Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET), configure the warning beacon to enable operation.

Activate the warning beacon by pushing button (7) on keypad 1.For more information on the operation of the warning beacon, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the machine being serviced.
