Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove the spring clips on the top and sides of covers (1) and (2).
Remove front cover (1).
Remove back cover (2).

Remove the bolts and disconnect adapter (3).
Remove the bolts and disconnect elbow (6). Remove the gasket.
Loosen clamp (4) and clamp (5).

Disconnect hose assembly (8) and hose assembly (11).
Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (7). The weight of turbocharger (7) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).
Remove bolts (10) and disconnect the adapter from turbocharger (7). Remove the O-ring seals.
Remove bolts (9) and turbocharger (7) from the exhaust manifold. Remove the gasket.
