Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Disconnect harness assemblies (3) and harness assembly (4).
Remove bolts (1).
Remove valve mechanism cover base (2) and the seal from the cylinder head. Installation Procedure

Install the seal on the valve mechanism cover base. Apply Tooling (A) to the seal joint.
Position valve mechanism cover base (2) on the cylinder head and install bolts (1). Tighten the bolts in a numerical sequence to a torque of 18 3 N m (13 2 lb ft).
Position harness assemblies (3) on the electronic unit injectors. Tighten the cap nuts to a torque of 2.5 0.25 N m (22 2 lb in).
Connect harness assembly (4). End By:
Install the valve mechanism cover. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove and Install".
