CONTROL GP 10R5487 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the transmission guard with a floor jack. Weight is 45 Kg (100 lb.).2. Remove bolts (1) from the transmission output flange and pinion shaft.3. Remove drive shaft (2). The following steps are for installing the drive shaft.4. Put the drive shaft in position and install the bolts without lockwashers.5. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of: D4B - 58 8 N m (43 6 lb.ft.) 935B - 55 7 N m (41 5 lb.ft.)6. Install the transmission guard with a floor jack.Disassemble And Assemble Drive Shaft
Start By:a. remove drive shaft 1. Remove bolts (1) that hold the bearings and spider to the shaft.2. Remove the spider and bearings. 3. To assemble, put bearings (2) on spider (3) and install on the drive shaft.4. Put lubricant in fittings (4).End By:a. install drive shaft
