Pressure Tap And Relief Valves Location
(1) Ripper head end relief valve (if equipped). (2) Main relief valve. (3) Pressure tap.
Control Valves
(1) Ripper head end relief valve (if equipped). (2) Main relief valve. (3) Pressure tap. (4) Manifold.1. Remove the four bolts (not shown) holding the attachment control valves cover plate (not shown) located on the right side of the machine. Remove the cover plate.2. Install one 6V-4143 Quick Disconnect to each end of the 6V-3014 Hose.3. Install the 8T-0860 Gauge 0 to 40 000 kPa (0 to 5800 psi) and 6V-3014 Hose Assembly to pressure tap (3) mounted in manifold (4).4. Start the engine and operate the lift, tilt and, if equipped, angle control valves to increase hydraulic oil temperature up to normal operating temperature.
Main Relief Valve
(5) Locknut. (6) Cover nut. (7) Adjusting screw.5. Raise the blade off the ground until the lift cylinders are fully retracted.6. Increase engine rpm to high idle, look at the test gauge and move the lift control lever to the RAISE position.7. The pressure setting of main relief valve (2) should be 17 225 350 kPa (2500 50 psi). Do not keep the control lever in the RAISE position, at the relief valve setting, more than 5 seconds.8. If the pressure setting of the relief valve is not to specification it will be necessary to adjust the valve.9. Lower the blade. Stop the engine.10. Remove cover nut (6). Loosen locknut (5) and turn adjusting screw (7) clockwise for an increase or counterclockwise for a decrease in the pressure setting of the relief valve. Tighten locknut (5) to a torque of 14 2 N m (10 1 lb ft).11. Start the engine. Repeat steps 5, 6 and 7.12. Lower the blade. Stop the engine.13. If the pressure is correct, remove the test equipment unless additional circuits require testing. Replace cover nut (6) and tighten to a torque of 14 2 N m (10 1 lb ft).14. If the pressure is not correct, repeat steps 10, 11 and 12.15. When the pressure setting is correct, remove the test equipment unless additional circuits require testing. Replace cover nut (6) and tighten to a torque of 14 2 N m (10 1 lb ft).Ripper Head End Relief Valve
Make reference to on first page of Testing And Adjusting section.
The ripper head end relief valve is set at a higher pressure than the main relief valve. The ripper head end relief valve must be tested and adjusted by either removing it to a test bench, or using supplemental pump pressure.Do not increase the setting of the main relief valve to set the ripper head end relief valve. Relief valves are very sensitive to flow and cannot be accurately set using the system pump. Always remove the relief valve to a test bench, or use a supplemental pump to test and adjust the valve. Prior to removing the relief valve perform
