Remanufactured oil pumps for 3400 engines may have an older 6N-1028 Oil Pump Body .The oil pump body has a 1 mm (0.039 inch) insufficient depth on the suction tube bore for the suction tubes using a hold-down bolt.This insufficient depth potentially causes misalignment and poor fit of the suction tubes in the housing. Refer to Illustrations 1 and 2.

If the 6N-1028 Oil Pump Body is found and a hold-down bolt is used, then insure suction tube will fit the full depth in pump before installing on engine .The pumps may be returned as parts stock warranty, or kept for an engine with a shorter suction tube depth requirement or no hold-down bolt.The oil pump bodies have been removed from production and the parts system.
