We have received reports from some 988F's, which have experienced service brake "chatter" or "squeal" in certain applications. Brake "chatter" sends vibrations throughout the machine, is therefore unpleasant and can lead to premature service brake disc and plate wear. This can happen right from new, since CAT TO-4 (TDTO) SAE 50 is the initial factory fill axle oil.Solution:
Adding 1U9891 has been the solution for this "problem". Add 1 liter of this additive for every 50 liters of axle oil. - For the 988F, that is about 3 liters of 1U9891 for each Differential and Final Drive Compartment.
