Note: 2.0 hours total are allowed in case of an After Failure repair that requires replacement of both cab cover assemblies.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Follow the below procedure on both sides of the machines when there are visible cracks.
If a cover has no visible cracks and does not need replacement, follow the below procedure from Step 3.
1. Disassemble the front guard lights, if equipped.
Disassemble the cab front lights. Retain the bolts, washers, and nuts.
Disassemble both cover assemblies by removing the eight 284-9815 Screws, two 127-2170 Screws, and two 5P-4116 Hard Washers. The cover assemblies will not be reused. Retain the mounting hardware for later reuse. Refer to Image1.2.1.

2. Install four 8T-7038 Films on the new 2576228/">257-6228 and 2576229/">257-6229 Cover Assemblies. Refer to Image1.3.1.
Note: Clean the surface of the cover assemblies before applying the films.
Install new cover assemblies on the cab.

3. Position two new 552-8422 Plates on the top of the new cover assemblies. Align the holes in the plate with the existing holes on the cover.
Tighten using all the hardware that was retained in Step 1.
4. Re-install the front lights using the hardware that was retained in Step 1. Add new 8T-4226 Washers. Refer to Image1.5.1.
Re-install the guard lights if removed in Step 1.
