CONTROL GP-ENGINE ELECTRONIC 1500023 - Caterpillar

1. Remove breather tubes (1) and (2) from the left hand side of the engine. Remove bolts (5) and (6) separately and put them back in place to hold the cover to the cylinder block.2. Remove bolts (3) and the nuts and remove exhaust elbow (4), the coupling and gasket. Remove the seal rings from the coupling. 3. Remove locknuts (7), the washers and spacers and remove exhaust manifolds (8) and (9) as a unit. Remove the gaskets.Install Exhaust Manifolds
1. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of studs (2).2. Put gaskets (3) in position on the cylinder heads.3. Install exhaust manifolds (1) and (4) as a unit. Install the spacers, washers and locknuts to hold the exhaust manifolds in position. Tighten the nuts in number sequence shown to a torque of 52 7 N m (38 5 lb ft). 4. Install seal rings (5) on coupling (6). Install coupling (6) in exhaust elbow (7).5. Put 5P3931 Compound on the threads of the bolts that hold elbow (7) to the exhaust manifolds.6. Put elbow (7) and the gasket in position and tighten the bolts and nuts that hold the elbow to the exhaust manifold.7. Install the breather tubes on the left hand side of the engine.
