36. Evacuate the air conditioning system.37. Disconnect two air conditioning hose assemblies (36).38. Close the two shut-off valves for the heater. These valves are located on the drivers left side of the engine, near the water pump.39. Disconnect two heater hose assemblies (38).40. Loosen the two clamps that hold air duct (37) in position. Remove the air duct. 41. Open the access door on the right side of the cab.42. Disconnect three electrical connectors (40).43. Disconnect electrical connector (39) for the transmission control group.
View From Under Cab44. Remove three support clamps (41) from under the cab.45. Disconnect electrical connectors (42) and (43).
View From Under Cab46. Disconnect ground strap (44) from the rear main frame. 47. Open the access door directly behind the cab.48. Empty the fluid out of windshield washer reservoir (45). Disconnect the hose from the windshield washer reservoir. 49. Remove four bolts (46) and the washers that hold the cab in position. 50. Fasten Tool (B) and a hoist to cab (47) as shown. Carefully remove the cab from the machine. The weight of the cab is 544 kg (1200 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the cab. 51. Fasten Tool (B) and a hoist to cab (47) as shown. Carefully put the cab in position on the machine. 52. Install four bolts (46) and the washers that hold the cab in position. Tighten each bolt to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 50 lb ft). 53. Connect the hose to the bottom of windshield reservoir (45). After the cab installation is complete, fill the windshield reservoir with fluid. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
View From Under Cab54. Disconnect ground strap (44) to the rear main frame. Tighten the bolt that holds the ground strap in position to a torque of 80 15 N m (60 11 lb ft).
View From Under Cab55. Connect electrical connectors (42) and (43).56. Reinstall three support clamps (41) under the cab. The access door on the right side of the cab can remain open until installation of the cab is complete.57. Connect electrical connector (39) for the transmission control group.58. Connect three electrical connectors (40).
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping refrigerant R-12 (C C12 F2 Dichloro Difluoro Methane) and refrigerant R-134A can cause freezing of human flesh. Do not smoke while working on air conditioning. Inhaling Refrigerant R-12 or R-134A through any smoking material, although not toxic or flammable, can cause violent illness. Also heat must never be applied to a charged system. See Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual Form No. SENR3334-01 and SENR5664, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
