Start By:
Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) from housing (3).

Use Tooling (F) to remove impeller (4) and plate (5) from housing (3).

Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (6). Remove seal assembly (7) from housing (3).

Remove the ceramic part of seal assembly (7) when the shaft assembly is removed from the housing. Use Tooling (E) and a suitable press to remove the seal from housing (3).

Remove bolts (8) and housing (3) from body (9).
Remove bolt (10).
Use Tooling (B) to remove gear (11) from the shaft assembly.

Use Tooling (C) to remove retaining ring (12). Remove the shaft assembly from the body.

Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press to remove bearing (13) from shaft (14).
Remove spacer (15).
Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press to remove bearing (17) from shaft (14).
Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (16).
