Note: During assembly, front face of the flywheel housing and rear face of the cylinder block must be free of oil, fuel, water, and assembly compounds.Note: Apply a small amount of blue Loctite RTV silicone to fill the space between the cylinder block, the flywheel housing, and the oil pan. The components must be assembled within 10 minutes of applying the sealant. (1) Torque for three bolts ... 115 20 N m (85 15 lb ft)Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts for the flywheel housing group:
Tighten the bolt 1 through bolt 9 in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 1 to 100 20 N m (75 15 lb ft).
Tighten the bolt 10 through bolt 24 in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 1 to 40 10 N m (30 7 lb ft).
Loosen all the bolts for 360 degrees.
Again, tighten the bolt 1 through bolt 9 in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 1 to 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
Again, tighten the bolt 10 through bolt 24 in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 1 to 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).
