CONTROL GP-ENGINE ELECTRONIC 1799850 - Caterpillar

Remove the coupling from spindle. Remove retaining rings and anti-disc spacer from inside of coupling. Remove the retaining ring from the outside of coupling. Unscrew pipe plugs from the second stage carrier. Remove the two capscrews holding the disconnect cap on place and remove disconnect cap. Remove the disconnect rod. Remove the two capscrews holding the cover cap in place then remove cover cap Remove the external o-ring from cover cap. Remove the internal o-ring from cover cap. Remove capscrews and lockwashers holding the second stage carrier in place then remove second stage carrier. Remove o-ring from second stage carrier. Remove second stage sun gear from the second stage carrier. Remove spacer from input shaft. Remove the first stage carrier from hub. Slide input shaft out of hub. Remove thrust washer from spindle.Hub-Spindle Disassembly
Remove pipe plugs from rear of hub.Hub-spindle disassembly. 1. Bend locktang away from locknut. 2. Remove locknut from spindle. 3. Remove lockwasher from spindle. 4. Remove the thrust washer from spindle. Remove the internal gear hub and internal gear from spindle. Using a puller, remove the bearing cone from the internal gear hub. Disconnect lockwires from capscrews on the internal gear. Remove lock plates and cap screws from the internal gear. Slide the internal gear hub out of the internal gear. Remove internal gear hub from spindle. Remove the retaining ring, washers, and spring from inside the spindle. Using a puller, remove the bearing cup from inside hub. Remove seal from inside hub. Remove bearing cone from bearing cup. Using a puller, remove the bearing cup from hub. Inspect studs for damage, press any damaged studs out of hub.Disassembly Second Stage Carrier/Cover
Remove locknut from planet pin. 1. Unbend tang of the locknut from lockslot of locknut. 2. Remove the locknut. Remove lockwasher from planet pin. Remove lock pin from slots on carrier and planet pin. Remove planet pin from carrier and planet gear. Remove o-ring from planet pin. Remove planet gear from carrier. Remove thrust washer from the C' bore of carrier. Remove bearing cones from bearing cups. Use a puller to remove the bearing cups from the gear. Remove spacer from deep end of planet gear. Remove retaining ring from within the planet gear bore.Repeat "Disassembly Second Stage Carrier/Cover" to remove the remaining planet gears and pins.Disassembly First Stage Carrier Sub-Assembly
Remove locknut from the planet shaft. Remove lockwasher from planet shaft. Remove the lock pin from slot in carrier and planet shaft. Remove the planet gear from the carrier. Remove input gear from carrier. Remove thrust washer from C' bore of carrier. Remove cones and cone spacer from the planet gear. Using a puller or brass drift, remove the bearing cups from the gear. Remove internal retaining ring from planet gear bore. After removing the last planet gear, remove the input gear.Repeat "Disassembly First Stage Carrier Sub-Assembly" to remove the remaining planet gears and pins.
