Automatic Mode Synchronization Sequence
Automatic Synchronization may be done locally at the generator set or remotely using a Customer Communication Module (CCM).
If the procedure is being done locally, the GSC+P checks that all Local Automatic Synchronization Conditions have been met:
The bus is live.
The Parallel Mode Switch is in AUTO.
The ECS is in RUN, or in AUTO with remote initiate.
If the procedure is being done remotely, the GSC+P checks that all Remote (CCM) Automatic Synchronization conditions have been met:
The bus is live.
The Parallel Mode Switch is in the AUTO position.
The ECS is in the AUTO position with Remote Sync inputs AND Remote Starting inputs from the CCM.
The GSC+P checks that the engine speed is greater than 90% of rated speed or the engine speed is equal to 90% of rated speed.
No - The GSC+P will wait on the engine speed. No synchronization will be initiated.
Yes - The synchroscope is shown on the lower display and the three spare fault indicators show the voltage, phase, and frequency relationship between the incoming generator and the bus.
The GSC+P checks if there are phase sequence alarms, inappropriate voltage alarms, or any other alarms are present.
Yes - The GSC+P will issue the appropriate alarm. Synchronization is prevented until the fault is corrected.
No - The GSC+P will verify conditions for synchronization and perform automatic parallel. Close breaker for a programmed duration when synchronization conditions are met.Dead Bus Closure Sequence
Dead bus closure may be done locally at the genset or remotely using a CCM. The synchroscope and the three spare indicators will all flash as shown in illustration 7 when the GSC+P is closing to a dead bus.

If the procedure is being done locally, the GSC+P checks that all dead bus conditions have been met:
Setpoint P310 enables Dead bus closure.
The voltage of the bus is less than setpoint P311.
The Dead bus sensor indicates that the bus is dead.
If the procedure is being done remotely, the GSC+P checks that all Remote (CCM) Dead Bus Closure Conditions have been met:
Dead bus closure is enabled by setpoint P310.
The Bus voltage is less than setpoint P311.
Dead bus sensor indicates that the bus is dead.

For Local procedures, the ECS must be in the RUN position, or the AUTO position with Remote Initiate input. For remote procedures, the ECS must be in the AUTO position with Remote SYNC AND the Remote Starting inputs from CCM.
The GSC+P checks that the engine speed is greater than 90% of rated speed or equal to 90% of rated speed.
No - The GSC+P will wait on engine speed. No synchronization is initiated.
Yes - The synchroscope is flashing on the lower display of the GSC+P and the three spare fault indicators are all flashing.
The GSC+P waits until the dead bus time delay has completed.
The GSC+P checks for phase sequence alarms, inappropriate voltage alarms or other synchronization alarmsExpected Result: There are no alarms present.Results:
