This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8884" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

In order to prevent stub shaft fretting and bolt breakage, the torque procedure has been updated for the center cluster stub shaft and the cam idler stub shafts. A new bolt is also used on the center cluster stub shaft.

Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual SENR3594-03 when performing this rework.
1. Remove flywheel and appropriate covers to gain access to the gear train. The rear gear train housing does not need to be removed for this rework.
2. Remove both the right and left camshaft drive gears. 3. Remove the right hand cam idler gear and shaft to gain access to the lower right hand center cluster stub shaft bolt.4. Remove the four bolts in the center cluster stub shaft and replace with the new 9X8886 Bolts.5. Torque bolts to 160 16 N m, then turn an additional 45 5 Degrees.6. Install the right hand cam idler shaft and gear using the new 1A8063 Bolts.Tighten the bolts to a torque of 160 16 N m, then turn an additional 45 5 Degrees. Before installing the cam idler shafts, check the 1A8063 Bolts to see that they have proper thread depth engagement. This can be done by installing the 1A8063 Bolt into the block finger tight and then measuring the distance from the block surface to the head of the bolt. The maximum distance for this measurement should not exceed 24 mm. If the measurement is greater than 24 mm, use a 3/4" - 10 bottom tap to tap the hole until the proper measurement is obtained between the block surface and the bolt head.
7. Remove the four bolts in the left hand cam idler stub shaft and replace with the new 1A8063 Bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 160 16 N m, then turn an additional 45 5 Degrees.8. Install both camshaft drive gears.9. Install the covers and flywheel. A 4C9451 and 4C9452 Wrench will be needed to do this
