3616 (1PD) Engines Operating On Heavy FuelDescription of Change: New turbocharger wash water lines groups are used on these engines. The new water lines groups will help reduce valve congestion and reduce water tube breakage. New exhaust manifold groups are used with the new turbocharger wash water lines group. The only difference between the new and former exhaust manifold groups is the last manifold section (6 or 8 cylinder engines) or sections (12 or 16 cylinder engines) before the turbocharger. These new exhaust manifolds have larger diameter holes [18.0 mm (.71 in) versus 7.0 mm (.28 in)] where the turbocharger wash water is injected into the exhaust.Adaptable To: Illustration 1 and Chart A identify the components of the new 126-3566 Turbocharger Wash Water Lines Group for 3606 Engines. If the new water lines group is installed, the water injection ports in the 7E-8295 Pipe and the 7E-8293 Manifold (parts of the 6I-4946 Exhaust Manifold Group) must be enlarged from a diameter 7.0 mm (.28 in) to 18.0 mm (.71 in) and tapped with 3/4- 14 NPTF thread.
