Tighten 40 bolts (6) that hold four plate as (13) to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft). Refer to Illustration 60 and Illustration 61.

Check that there are no gaps between the radiator core assemblies and the seals of the tank.

Place two cover over openings (A). Place two cover over openings (B). Remove the relief valves and the plugs from openings (A) and openings (B) .

Place two cover over openings (A). Remove the relief valves and the plugs from openings (A) .
Apply 140 kPa (20 psi) to the radiator. Allow the air pressure to stabilize for five minutes. Monitor the pressure for an additional ten minutes. The air pressure must not drop more than 6 kPa (1 psi) during this period.
If the pressure drops more than 6 kPa (1 psi), spray the seals for the radiator core assembly with a soap solution. Check for leaks by looking for bubbles. Release the air and repair the leak after locating the leak. Repeat Step 1 through Step 3. If no leaks occur proceed to Step 5.
Release the air.
Remove two cover over openings (A). Remove two cover over openings (B). Place the relief valves and the plugs from openings (A) and openings (B) onto the radiator.
Remove two cover over openings (A). Place the relief valves and the plugs from openings (A) onto the radiator.
Proceed to Step 21 in ""Assemble the Upper Half of the Radiator Assembly"".
