Inspection
Inspect the conveyor chain for any worn teeth or for any damaged teeth. Perform any necessary repairs or replace the conveyor chain.Inspect the master links for wear or for damage. Replace the master links, if necessary.
Do not lubricate the chain. Lubricating the chain could increase wear thus, shortening chain life.

(A) Conveyor chain sag
The conveyor chain sag should be approximately 25.4 mm (1 inch). Perform the following procedure to adjust the sag of the conveyor chain.

Loosen the four bolts (1) for both front idler shaft bearings (2).
Loosen the jam nut (4) on each side.
Adjust each set screw (3) in order to achieve the proper amount of sag.
Illustration 3 g00556390Note: Ensure that dimension (B) is identical for each bearing.
Tighten the four bolts for the front idler shaft bearings.
Tighten each jam nut.
Do not lubricate the chain. Lubricating the chain could increase wear thus, shortening chain life.
