Improvement for Tractor Transmission System
A change to the activation logic of the E1240 (Machine Operation with Rear Engine Stopped) Event code on twin engine models. This change enables the E1240 event to be activated when the rear engine speed is zero and the machine is moving. This change affects rear engine models. When activated, the E1240 event warns the operator that the rear engine is OFF. Operating the machine with the rear engine OFF should be avoided as the moving parts in the rear transmission will not receive adequate lubrication.Note: Single engine models will not see any change in the new transmission software release compared to the existing software file.Adaptable To: The new 469-2707 Power Train Software Gp replaces the existing 448-1750 Power Train Software Gp. The new software part number is listed in Table 1.

Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) software version 2014A is required to flash these "fl2" software files and display the content file in Cat ET.
After flashing new software to an ECM or multiple ECMs, always reset the ECM by cycling the power supply. Turn the key start switch to the OFF position. Wait for 10 seconds. Turn the key start switch to the ON position or start the engine. Verify that the operation of the machine is correct and that no new diagnostics have been activated.The new software is adaptable to and is effective in production with the serial numbers that are listed in Table 2.
