2. Install bearing (1) on service piston (2). Make sure the tabs are in position and locked over the piston flange. 3. Make sure the surface for packing cup (3) on service piston (2) is clean and free of dirt, oil and grease.
Do not permit any sealant to get on the outer lip of packing cup (3). Sealant must be permitted to become dry (cure) at least eight hours before piston is assembled into cylinder.
4. Put 3S6252 Sealant on the surface of service piston (2) for packing cup (3) and retainer (4).5. Install packing cup (3) on service piston (2) with the outer lip edge toward retainer (4). Make sure the packing cup is in correct position on its seat and wipe off all excess sealant. 6. Install retainer (4) for the packing cup and fasten it in position with the screws. 7. Install spring (7) and spring locator (6) on piston (2) as shown and fasten it in place with jam nut (5). 8. Install bearing (8) on emergency piston (9). Make sure the tabs are in position and locked over the piston flange. 9. Make sure the surface for packing cup (10) on emergency piston (9) is clean and free of dirt, oil and grease.
Do not permit any sealant to get on the outer lip of packing cup (10). Sealant must be permitted to become dry (cure) at least eight hours before piston is assembled into cylinder.
10. Put 3S6252 Sealant on the surface of emergency piston (9) for packing cup (10).11. Install packing cup (10) on emergency piston (9) with the long outer lip toward the center support. 12. Install cup retainer (11) and fasten it in place with the screws. Put 3S6252 Sealant over the inner edge of the retainer and on to piston (9) all the way around. 13. Install O-ring seal (12) into the counterbore of center support (14).14. Install bushing (13) into center support (14) with the side that has the flat flange surface next to and in contact with O-ring seal (12). 15. Install snap ring (15) in the groove of center support (14) with tool (A). 16. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease on the grooves of center support (14) for O-ring seals (16). Install O-ring seals (16) in the grooves on center support (14). 17. Use 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease and put lubrication in the bore of service cylinder (19).18. Install the service piston into service cylinder (19) with push rod (20) and jam nut (5) in the center of the hole in the end of cylinder (19).19. Put center support (14) in position on the service piston and over cylinder (19) with the side that has a cavity (concave side) up. Make sure to have a press available which has a minimum throat opening (height) of 635 mm (25 in.) and a minimum stroke of 355.6 mm (14 in.).
Make sure the safety shield for the press is in position during the pressing operation.
The safety shield has been removed from
