Separate the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate and Connect".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the removal procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Install suitable blocking under the track. Remove guards (1).

Remove bolt (2). Repeat for the opposite side.

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to both sides of the front track roller frame.

Remove bolts (3) from cover (4).
Repeat Step 4 for the opposite side.

Install Tooling (B) in order to remove cover (4). Note: Drain the oil into a suitable container.
Repeat Step 6 for the opposite side.

Partially remove front track roller frame (5) and install Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device.
Remove front track roller frame (5). The weight of front track roller frame (5) is approximately 385 kg (850 lb). Note: Drain the oil into a suitable container.

Remove seal (6) and bearing (8) from track roller frame (7), if necessary.
