CONTROL GP-JOYSTICK 3273548 - Caterpillar

1. Remove spring guard assembly (not shown).2. Put metal slug (1) in the sprocket as shown. Remove the carrier roller. (See Remove And Install Carrier Roller). 3. As the machine is moved to the rear with the slug in position, recoil spring (2) will be put under compression.4. Move the machine until the front pilot of the recoil spring is approximately 3.175 mm (.125 in) away from the stops.5. Remove bolt (3) and washer. Tighten nut (4) by hand to hold the recoil spring in a shorter position. Separate the track at this time. (See Track Separation).6. Remove four bolts (5) and remove two stops (6). 7. Remove four bolts (7) and move idler assembly (8) towards front of tractor. 8. Pull yoke assembly (9) out of recoil spring (2). 9. Fasten two straps as shown and a hoist to the recoil spring (2) and remove. Weight is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Install in the reverse order. If a replacement of recoil spring is to be made, put the new spring in position and put the spring under compression until the distance (X) is 47.6 cm (18.75 in). Tighten nut (11) to hold the spring and retainers.10. Connect track.11. Install carrier roller.
