Keep engine speed low until the engine oil pressure alert indicator goes out. If the alert indicator does not go out within ten seconds, stop the engine and investigate the cause before starting again. Failure to do so can cause engine damage.
Allow a cold engine to warm up at LOW IDLE for at least 5 minutes. To help the hydraulic components to warm up faster, engage the attachment controls and disengage the attachment controls.
Look at the indicators and the gauges frequently during operation. The hydraulic oil will warm up faster, if the bucket control is held in the CLOSE position for short periods of 10 seconds or less. This time will allow the hydraulic oil to reach relief pressure, which causes the hydraulic oil to warm up more rapidly.Cycle all controls in order to allow warm hydraulic oil to circulate through all hydraulic cylinders and through all hydraulic lines.When you idle the engine in order to warm up the engine, observe the following recommendations:
Allow the engine to warm up for approximately 15 minutes when the temperature is higher than 0°C (32°F).
Allow the engine to warm up for approximately 30 minutes or more when the temperature is below 0°C (32°F).
More time may be required if the temperature is less than −18°C (0°F). More time may also be required if the hydraulic functions are sluggish.
