ACTION REQUIRED
New hoses are available with an improved bend radius to reduce the risk of hose kinking failures. Replace the existing 383-8872, 389-0458, 441-8424, and 452-6653 Hose Assemblies with 487-6293, 487-6294, 487-6295, and 487-6296 Hose Assemblies. All four hoses should be replaced when performing this program.
The right hand side hoses have seen failures in the 500-1,500 hour range. The recommendation is to replace the four brake cooling hoses prior to failure.
Once applying this service letter, proactive replacements will not be needed. After applying this letter any future hose replacements should be based upon inspections as outlined in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
If applicable and not previously completed, PS44300 "Product Support Program for Replacing the Water Line Guard on Certain 797F and 797F XQ Off-Highway Trucks" should be applied with the installation of the new hoses.
