Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Remove bolts (1). Disconnect hose (4).
Remove bolts (3). Remove water temperature regulator housing (2).

Remove O-ring seals (5), water temperature regulators (6) and lip seals (7) from water temperature regulator housing (2). Installation Procedure

Use Tooling (A) to install lip seals (7).

Position water temperature regulators (6) and O-ring seals (5) into water temperature regulator housing (2).

Position water temperature regulator housing (2). Install bolts (3).
Connect hose (4). Install bolts (1).
Fill the cooling system to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change"and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
