2. Disconnect linkage (1) from the governor.3. Loosen two bolts (2). 4. Remove bolts (3). 5. Remove four bolts (5) and remove governor (4) from the fuel injection pump housing. 6. Remove ferrule (6) from the fuel injection pump housing. 7. Remove O-ring seal (7) from the governor housing.Install Governor
1. Install O-ring seal (1) on the governor housing and ferrule (2) on the fuel injection pump housing. 2. Put the governor in position on the fuel injection pump housing with the fuel rack lever engaged in the fuel rack.3. Remove the plug and install rod (3) from tooling (A). Push the rod in until the speed limiter plunger will permit full movement of the governor. Tighten the plug to hold the rod in position.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE4. Remove the plug from the cover on the side of the fuel injection pump housing and install tooling (A).5. Move the governor control lever while the rack stop collar is pulled up. Do this several times and watch the dial indicator to see if the indicator moves backward and forward. If the dial indicator does not give this indication, the fuel tank lever is not engaged in the rack. Remove the governor and check the position of the fuel rack lever and install the governor again.6. Install the bolts that hold the governor to the fuel injection pump housing.7. Remove tooling (A). 8. Install the bolts in bracket (4). 9. Tighten two bolts (5) in the bracket.10. Connect linkage (6) to the governor.11.
