Remove three bolts (9) and the washers that secure brake oil cooler (5) to the engine.

Attach lifting straps and a hoist to brake oil cooler (5) .

Remove six bolts (10) that secure brake oil cooler (5) to bonnet (11). Remove the brake oil cooler from the machine. The weight of the brake oil cooler is 27 kg (60 lb).

If necessary, remove the six bolts that secure the bonnet to brake oil cooler (5) and remove the bonnet. Remove the gaskets. Use an appropriate sized dowel rod in order to clean coolant tubes (12) in the cooler.Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.
If necessary, place the bonnet and the gasket into position. Install the six bolts that secure the bonnet to the brake oil cooler.

Attach lifting straps and a hoist to brake oil cooler (5). Place the brake oil cooler into position. The weight of the brake oil cooler is 27 kg (60 lb).

Install O-rings onto two brake lines (8). Position the brake lines and install eight bolts (6), the washers and four half clamps (7) that secure the brake lines to the brake oil cooler.

Install drain plug (4) and the washer to brake oil cooler (5) .Note: Apply 1U-8846 Sealant around the washer in order to improve the seal.

Place the exhaust pipe into position. Install two bolts (2), the washers and the nuts that secure the exhaust pipe to the exhaust support bracket.

Install four bolts (1) and the nuts onto the exhaust pipe assembly.

The turbocharger shield has been removed for photographic clarity.
Install clamp (3) that secures the exhaust pipe to the turbocharger.
Refill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7183 for the proper procedure.
Check the level of the hydraulic fluid. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7183 for the proper procedure.
Check the system for leaks.
