When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.
Read all Warning labels on the suspension cylinders before servicing.The machine must be on level ground before releasing the nitrogen pressure.Do not check the oil in the suspension cylinder until all of the nitrogen pressure has been released.Do not remove valves, covers, or plugs from the cylinder unless the rod is fully retracted and all of the nitrogen pressure as been released.Stand clear of the machine during suspension cylinder charging, discharging, or testing and adjusting procedures, or while lifting or lowering the machine.Sudden movement upward or downward can cause clearance to change rapidly.Failure to heed this Warning could lead to injury or death.
Discharge the suspension cylinder. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS9411, "Servicing the Suspension Cylinders for Off-Highway Trucks".

Use Tooling (A) in order to lift the rear housing of the vehicle. Support the rear housing with suitable blocking.

Disconnect harness assembly (1) and remove the clip.

Remove bolts (2) and remove plate (3).

Use Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device in order to secure rear suspension cylinder (5). The weight of rear suspension cylinder (5) is approximately 862 kg (1900 lb).
Use a suitable lifting device in order to position Tooling (B). The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 209 kg (460 lb).
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove pin assembly (4).

Use Tooling (C) in order to lower rear suspension cylinder (5).
Attach a suitable lifting device to rear suspension cylinder (5). Remove Tooling (C). Lower rear suspension cylinder (5) in order to be horizontal with the ground.
Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to rear suspension cylinder (5). Attach the devices to retaining cable (6). Remove the suitable lifting device from Step 9.

Use a suitable lifting device in order to position Tooling (B). The weight of Tooling (B) is approximately 209 kg (460 lb).
Attach suitable lifting devices to rear suspension cylinder (5). Remove the suitable lifting device from the retaining cable.
Use Tooling (B) in order to remove pin assembly (9). Remove rear suspension cylinder (5). The weight of rear suspension cylinder (5) is approximately 862 kg (1900 lb).
If necessary, repeat Steps 3 through 14 for the other rear suspension cylinder.
The suspension cylinder bearings may wear over time. The bearings should be replaced at the recommended replacement intervals. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Maintenance Interval Schedule". The suspension cylinder bearings should be inspected for abnormal wear whenever the links are removed. Replace the bearings if excessive adhesive or abrasive wear is present. If the wear stops a seal pick, the bearing should be measured in order to determine reusability. Inspect
