Which Generate This Code:The engine's Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the following condition:
The air inlet pressure for the left turbocharger is above 6.5 kPa (26 inches of H2O).
The air inlet pressure for the right turbocharger is above 6.5 kPa (26 inches of H2O).System Response:The ECM will log the event. When the air inlet restriction exceeds 6.5 kPa (26 inches of H2O) the ECM will derate the engine. The ECM will derate the engine in increments of 2 percent per 1 kPa (4 inches of H2O). The maximum level of derate is 20 percent. Air filter restriction is determined by measuring the atmospheric pressure and the turbocharger inlet pressures and calculating the difference. The peak level of derate will remain active until the ECM is reset by being powered down.

There may be a problem with the atmospheric pressure sensor or the left or right turbocharger inlet pressure sensors.

Connect Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) to the service tool connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.
Check for any active diagnostic codes.Expected Result:There are no active diagnostic codes.Results:
OK - There are no active diagnostic codes. Proceed to Test Step 2.
Not OK - There are diagnostic codes that are present.Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are present. Refer to the appropriate topic in the "Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code" section of this manual.STOPTest Step 2. Perform a Check of the Air Inlet System
Check for restrictions in the air inlet system. Check the air filters for an obstruction. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting.Expected Result:There is a restriction in the air inlet system.Results:
