Remove the axle shafts.
Drain the differential and final drive into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil and Screens - Change/Clean".

Remove bolts (1) and bracket assembly (2).

Disconnect harness assembly (3) and remove the connecting hardware.

Remove bolts (4) that secure differential and bevel gear (5) to the rear axle housing assembly. To retain differential and bevel gear (5), do not remove two of bolts (4) that are indicated by an X.
Remove bolts (6), screen cover (7), and the screen assembly from differential and bevel gear (5).

Use a suitable lift truck to install Tooling (A) onto differential and bevel gear (5).

Remove the remaining bolts (4).

Use two of bolts (4) as pusher bolts to separate differential and bevel gear (5) from the axle housing.

Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lift truck to remove differential and bevel gear (5). The weight of differential and bevel gear (5) is approximately 3356 kg (7400 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (8).
