Lifting Point - To lift the machine, attach the lifting devices to the lifting points.
Tie Down Point - To tie down the machine, attach the tie-downs to the tie down points.Lifting the Machine
Only lift fully assembled machines.Note: Only lift objects from approved lifting points and with approved lifting devices.Use properly rated cables and properly rated slings to lift the machine.Position the crane or the lifting device to lift the machine in a level position.The width of the spreader bar must be sufficient to prevent the lifting cables or the lifting straps from contacting the machine.

Typical example of the machine position for lifting
Note: The machine must be positioned according to the instructions below to maintain the machine center of gravity at the center of the swing gear.
Remove the work tool and position the machine as follows:
Stabilizers raised
Upper structure rotated 90° over the undercarriage
Stick nose positioned according to the table below:

Move the hydraulic lockout control to the LOCKED position.Note: Damage to the access steps may occur if not removed.
Remove the access steps before attaching the lifting cables.
Locate access steps on the front of the machine.
Loosen and remove the bolts to remove the access steps.
Locate access ladder on the rear of the machine.
Loosen and remove the securing bolts to remove the ladder.

Wrap two lifting cables to the front of the machine as shown above. There is one lifting point on each side of the front of the machine. The lifting points are identified by a label that shows a hook.
Connect the four lifting cables to the spreader bars. The spreader bars must be centered over the machine.
If equipped, secure any attachments.
Apply the proper protector to prevent machine/wire damage and slippage.
Lift the machine. Move the machine to the desired position.
Position the machine for shipping. See Operation and Maintenance, "Shipping the Machine".
Secure the machine with tie-downs. See "Tying Down the Machine"Tying Down the Machine
There are two methods that can be used to tie down a machine. Local and/or regional regulations will determine which method to use.Note: Obey all local and regional governmental regulations.Direct Lashing
When allowed, a combination of frictional lashing and direct lashing is the preferred method to tie down a machine.
