Note: All of the components that are shown in Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 are part of the implement electronic control system.The implement electronic control system electronically controls the pilot valves of the blade and the ripper attachments (if equipped). The operator uses the blade control handle and the ripper control handle in order to send commands to the implement electronic control module (ECM). The ECM will respond to the commands by activating the appropriate pilot solenoid valves. These solenoid valves control the amount of pilot oil that flows to the ends of the main control valves. The main control valves perform the following adjustments:
Height of the blade
Tilt of the blade
Pitch of the blade
Height of the ripper
Inward movement of the ripper shank
Outward movement of the ripper shankCertain tasks of the blade and the ripper can be performed automatically by the ECM. The operator selects the automatic operation. Then, the operator can set the values for the operation to be performed.An implement lockout solenoid is used in order to deactivate the implement hydraulic system. The implement lockout solenoid is energized during normal machine operation. When the operator moves the implement lockout switch into the LOCKED position, the implement lockout solenoid is de-energized and the solenoid blocks supply oil to the implement manifold. No pilot pressure will be available for initiating movement of the blade or the ripper. This switch should be in the LOCKED position before any of the following conditions exist:
The operator exits the machine.
The machine is being serviced.
The machine is left unattended.The implement control system is an electronic/hydraulic System. The operator controls (blade control handle and ripper control levers) are input devices to the implement electronic control module (implement ECM). The implement ECM processes the input signals from the operator and the ECM will activate one or more of the solenoid valves in the hydraulic system. The solenoids that are activated are dependent on the following items:operating mode, operator's request, diagnosed problems with components and configuration of the tractor . There are conditions when the implement ECM will prevent an operator from performing a specific operation or a combination of operations in order to prevent damage to the tractor or damage to the hydraulic system.If the functionality of the controls of the operator are lost, the advisor is integrated with the implement electronics in order to allow the keypad to be used to raise the implements. The implements are moved out of the way so the machine can be moved to an area for repair. (This capability is also known as "limp home mode").See Systems Operation, "Manual Blade Function". The tables provide the logic for the implement control system. Additional information is provided in this manual for specific components.The calibrations for the solenoids are performed on the tractor in order to determine the cracking pressure of the hydraulic system for each function. These values are recorded in the implement ECM. These values then become the initial turn-on valve current. This improves the response of the implement system.Power
