Vehicular Engines With Precombustion Chambers ( 45V1-1759)Description of Change: A new connecting rod assembly is used for service replacement in the above engines, which are used in D3 Tractors (79U, 82U, 83U, and 6N), 910 (80U), and 931 (78U, 81U, 8N, and 10N) Loaders. The new connecting rod has tapered sides at the piston pin (upper) end, similar to other tapered connecting rods used in Caterpillar engines. The former connecting rods had straight sides at the piston pin end.Adaptable As: The new 8N3753 Connecting Rod Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 4N2218 Connecting Rod Assembly, which is canceled. The new connecting rods can be used with the pistons that have straight pin bosses, and can be mixed with the former connecting rods in the same engine.
