Location of the adhesive on the plate (1) Plate
Apply 1Y-3904 Adhesive onto the side of the plate that will contact the engine block. Refer to Illustration 1 for the proper location of the adhesive.
Illustration 2 g02476897
Location of sealant at the joints of the gasket (2) 141-5831 Silicone Sealant
Install one of the new gaskets onto the side of the plate that will contact the engine block. Apply 141-5831 Silicone Sealant at the puzzle joints of the new gasket. Refer to Illustration 2 for the proper location of the sealant.
Illustration 3 g02477451
(A) Location of T-joints
Apply a 3 mm (0.11811 inch) to 5 mm (0.19685 inch) bead of 141-5831 Silicone Sealant at the T-joints of the engine block. Refer to Illustration 4 for the proper location of the sealant.Note: All of the joints must be assembled within 10 minutes of sealant application. After 10 minutes the sealant will begin to harden, and the performance of the sealant is compromised.
