Information:

Dozing
Straight Dozing: If the blade digs in and the rear of the tractor rises, raise the blade to maintain an even cut. When moving a heavy load causes travel speed to drop, shift to a lower gear and/or ease the blade up slightly. When doing finishing or leveling work, a full blade handles easier than a partially loaded blade. Slog Dozing: This allows larger loads to be carried in front of the blade. It is used in stockpiling and high production bulldozing. Side-by-Side Dozing: Use when moving large quantities of loose material. Keep the blades close together, and the tractors parallel. Tilt Dozer Ditching: Tilt the blade, and work with the low side in the ditch center. Level the blade when required depth and slope are reached. Straight Dozer Ditching: Tilt the blade to cut shallow "V" ditches. Larger ditches: Doze at right angles to the center line of the ditch. When desired depth is reached, doze the length of ditch to smooth sides and bottom. Angle Dozer Backfilling: Travel parallel to the ditch. Straight Dozer Backfilling: Push at a 90° angle to the ditch. Power Angle Dozer: Push the dirt to the desired position, then angle the blade to sidecast the dirt. Bulldoze downhill where possible.Land Clearing
Tree Removal:1. Check the tree for dead limbs. Cut the roots on the side opposite the direction of fall. 2. Cut the roots on the sides parallel to the direction of fall. 3. Ease into the tree. Push in the direction of fall, with the blade high. Build an earth ramp if higher contact is needed. 4. Back away immediately when the tree starts to fall.
Do not drive onto the stump while the tree is falling.
Large Brush and Medium Size Trees: Contact the tree 12 to 16 inches (300 to 400 mm) above the ground. Move forward while lifting the blade. Brush Clearing: Lower the blade a few inches into the ground, and move forward. Lift the blade when the brush is out, to loosen earth from the roots. Stump Removal: Lift the blade while pushing. Rock Removal: Contact the rock at the center of the blade. Side Hill Cut: Start cut downgrade if possible. Slope to the inside of the cut. Doze a bench wide enough for machines that will follow. Make the starting cut with a series of downhill passes. Tilt the blade into the hill, angle the blade to sidecast the material away from the hill. Use extra caution when crossing side hills, ridges, logs and ditches.Ripping
Five shanks should be used in soft materials, which are easily ripped. Three shanks work well in packed soil, hardpan and clay. Whenever asphalt roads, cemented gravel or sidewalks are being ripped, be sure that the tracks do not spin.Keep the pass spacing close when the final material size must be relatively small.
Do not turn or back tractor while shanks are in the ground. Twisting strain on the shanks and tips may cause failure. Check ripper tips frequently.
Check travel route for overpass clearances.
