Typical Exhaust Bypass Group (Wastegate) linkage. New 173-7476 Rod End (right hand thread) (1).New 173-7477 Rod End (left hand thread) (2).Adaptable To: The new 173-7476 (1) and 173-7477 (2) Rod Ends are used in the 116-4632, 140-7520, and 145-5656 Exhaust Bypass Groups (Wastegate) on these engines. The new 173-7476 and 173-7477 Rod Ends replace the 8C-7315 and 8C-7321 Rod Ends respectively, at the locations shown in the illustration. The new rod ends are effective with G3606 (3XF214), G3608 (4WF141), G3612 (1YG179), and G3616 (4CG155) Engines. In addition to the new upper 173-7476 Rod End (1), Caterpillar also recommends the use of the 170-1068 Exhaust Manifold Shield Assembly to provide additional wastegate rod end heat protection.
