Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".

Note: Steering shaft assembly (4) must be separated from lever (1) in order to remove steering shaft assembly (4) from the machine.
Remove two nuts (2), the washers, and the bolts that hold flange (3) to lever (1) .
Remove steering shaft assembly (4) from lever (1) .

Remove the nut and bolt (6) .
Remove bottom shaft yoke (5) from the shaft of steering pilot valve (7) .

The arrow is pointing toward the front of the machine.Note: The key that is on the shaft of the steering pilot valve and the keyway of bottom shaft yoke (5) must face toward the front of the machine.
Position steering shaft assembly (4). Install shaft yoke (5) on the shaft of the steering pilot valve. Make sure that the key on the shaft of pilot valve (7) fits securely in the keyway that is in the bottom shaft yoke.

Install the nut and bolt (6) .

(X) Keyway
Keyway (X) and key (8) should be in the STRAIGHT AHEAD and CENTERED position.

(A) 6.0 1.0 mm (0.24 0.04 inch) dimension.Note:
Lever (1) must be adjusted on the steering column shaft so that 6.0 1.0 mm (0.24 0.04 inch) protrudes below the lever, as shown.
Align the steering column that protrudes below lever (1) with the pilot hole of mounting flange (3) .

(B) There should be no gap between the mating surfaces.
Push mounting flange (3) onto the steering column until mounting flange (3) is flush with lever (1). There should be no gap between lever (1) and mounting flange (3) .
Install two bolts, the washers, and nuts (2) .
The steering wheel should be in a STRAIGHT AHEAD and CENTERED position. Refer to Step 9 for the correct adjustment procedure.
Loosen two nuts (2). Adjust the steering wheel to the correct position. Tighten nuts (2) .End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
