A new harness routing from the machine to the screed is now used for asphalt pavers that are equipped with Extend-A-Mat screeds.The harness is now routed from the right screed control junction box through a p-clamp on the front mounting bolt of the right extender height actuator. Obtain the required parts in the tables below in order to perform the rework procedure for the harness routing.

Cut all necessary tie straps and remove the existing control harness from the screed.
Plug either end of the new control harness into the connector on the back of the right screed control junction box.

Use the existing hardware and a 7C-4354 Clip (1) to attach the harness to the front mounting bolt of the right extender height actuator.

Route the harness to the right side of the screed walkway. Use the existing hardware and two 6D-4636 Clips (2) to attach the harness to the platform mounting bolts.

Clamp the harness along the platform. There should be 860 mm (33.8 inch) between the front clip and the cable clamp on the connector.
Any extra slack in the harness should be taken up between the clip on the extender height actuator and the rear clip on the right side of the platform.
