Battery disconnect switch
The batteries for the power module are mounted in racks on the floor along one side of the generator set against the wall. The batteries provide power for the engine and for 24 volt interior lighting. The batteries are connected to a battery charger and to the alternator for charging. A battery disconnect switch is mounted to the generator. The battery disconnect switch is used to prevent the engine from being started while the power module is not being used. The battery disconnect switch is used to prevent any battery drain while the power module is not being used.Auxiliary AC Power Distribution

Switches for interior lights
There are 24 volt interior lights that are mounted in the engine area and in the operator control area inside the power module. The lights are wired to a 0-60 minute timer switch. The timer switch is mounted to the wall beside the entrance door. These lights are powered from the batteries.Incandescent lighting and fluorescent lighting that is 120 volt is available as an option.Outlets

Floor-standing switchgear
A floor-standing switchgear and controls are provided with the power module. This is for the proper controls and protection of the generator set. The following components are included within the switchgear.Electronic Modular Control Panel (EMCP II)
The EMCP II monitoring system components for the engine and for the generator are contained in the switchgear. Paralleling
The controls for manual paralleling include the following components: synchronizing lights, switch and reverse power relay.Semiautomatic paralleling and automatic paralleling are available as an option.Circuit Breaker
The circuit breaker is a manually operated breaker. The circuit breaker is equipped with a trip unit that is solid-state for overload and fault protection. The circuit breaker includes a DC shunt trip coil that is activated by any monitored fault from the generator set. The circuit breaker is sized for full load capacity of the generator set.Circuit breakers that are electrically operated are available as an option.Load Sharing Module
The switchgear is equipped with a load share module for governing of the engine during parallel operation. The load share module contains the following controls for operation: speed adjust potentiometer, idle/rated switch and isochronous/droop switch.Transformers
Three transformers are included in the switchgear in order to reduce the voltage for auxiliary power for the power module. Two transformers are connected to the generator leads connection of the circuit breaker. One transformer is connected to the load connection of the circuit breaker.
