The spring of the recoil spring assembly is compressed under several tons of force.Do not attempt to compress or release the tension of the spring with the nut on the end of the retaining rod.Damaged threads on the retaining rod or nut can cause the assembly to come apart with force, resulting in injury or death.

Fasten a suitable lifting device to recoil spring assembly (11). The weight of the recoil spring assembly is approximately 53 kg (117 lb).

Position recoil spring assembly (11) in the machine. Install stops (17) and bolts (18).
Install carrier roller (16) and bolts (15).

Install yoke assembly (14) on the machine. Slide idler (6) toward the yoke assembly on track frame (7).

Install the yoke assembly to the idler with bolts (13).
Connect the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect".

Install Tooling (A) in the sprocket.

Back up the machine in order to release the tension on nut (8) against plate (9). Set the parking brake.

(A) 1.5 mm (0.06 inch)Note: Do not remove nut (8) from the threaded rod of the adjuster assembly.
Back off nut (8) between the end of the threaded rod of the adjuster assembly and the outside surface of nut (8) until you achieve a dimension of 1.5 mm (0.06 inch). This dimension is shown in the graphic above as Dimension (A).
Install the washer and bolt (10) in order to lock nut (8) in position.
Release the parking brake. Move the machine forward in order to expand the recoil spring assembly. Remove Tooling (A) from the sprocket.

Install guard (2) with bolts (4).
Install guard (3) with bolts (5).
Install guard (1) with bolts (3A) and (1A).End By:
Connect the track. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Connect".
