Remove the fuel temperature sensor.
Remove the fuel pressure sensor.
Personal injury or death can result from a fire.Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.
Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

Relive fuel pressure by opening relief valve (2).
Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and the adapters. Disconnect hose (2).
Use Tooling (A) to remove fuel filters (5).
Remove fuel filter base (4).

Remove fuel priming pump (6) and discard the gasket. Use a new gasket for installation.
Remove plugs (7) and pipe plugs (7).
Remove valve assembly (9) and the adapter.

Remove plug assembly (10) and remove studs (11).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Note: Illustration 4 shows lever (18) in the FLOW BOTH position.Note: Note the indicator on lever (18) is aligned with the flat grooves on fuel filter valve (13).
Remove spring pin (19).
Remove lever (18), ball (15), and spring (12).
Remove screws (17) and plate (12).
Remove fuel filter valve (13) and discard O-ring seals (16).Installation Procedure
Install fuel filter base (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Lubricate O-ring seals (16) and the bores with Tooling (B).

Note the indicator on lever (18) is aligned with the flat grooves on fuel filter valve (13). Reference Illustration 5.
Apply Tooling (C) 7.6 mm (0.30 inch) from the tapered end of studs (11).
Apply Tooling (B) to plugs (7).
Turn fuel filters (5) one full turn after the filter gaskets come in contact with the base.
